CACS CANCELLATION POLICY FOR STUDY PROGRAMMES

(ONLINE, IN-PERSON AND RESIDENTIAL)

The following terms are used in this policy:

  • Days refer to calendar days.
  • Weeks refer to calendar weeks.

 (1) Short Course

You can cancel free of charge up to six calendar weeks before the start of a Short Course, that is a course of up to or less than eight calendar weeks.

  • In case of cancellation within six to two weeks prior to the course, an administration fee of £25 will be charged, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
  • In case of cancellation within two weeks prior to the course, the administration costs amount to £25.00 + 10% of the course fee.

If a course is cancelled after the start of the course, no money will be refunded.

No discount is granted if the accommodation option is not used or if (part of) the meals are not used.

(2) Day Course

With a Day Course, that is a course of up to or less than eight hours of a calendar day (study day, workshop, enrichment talk) you can cancel up to 7 calendar days in advance. The cancellation costs are then £20.

(3) Spiritual Direction Formation Programme (SDFP)

The application fee which is a deposit towards the cost of the tuition fee is non-refundable if accepted on the course. Where a candidate is not accepted on the course, an administration cost of £50 will be deducted from the deposit and the rest refunded.

Cancellation must always be made in writing: by email to the Coordinator of the SDFP, Fr Kelvin Ekhoegbe, OCD at frkelvin@carmelite.org.uk or by post to Centre for Applied Carmelite Spirituality, Carmelite Priory, Boars Hill, Oxford, OX1 5HB, UK.

In case of cancellation costs will be charged. These amounts:

  • up to 90 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 10% of the total course fee
  • up to 60 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 50% of the total course fee
  • from 30 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 100% of the total course fee.

After the start of the SDFP, no course fee will be refunded.

(4) Prayer Course/Pilgrimage/other programmes

The application fee which is a deposit towards the cost of the course fee or programme is non-refundable if accepted on a Prayer Course, that is the Living Prayer Course, School of Prayer or Prayer Guides Course as well as on the retreat-Pilgrimage.

Where a candidate is not accepted on the course, an administration cost of £25 will be deducted from the deposit and the rest refunded.

In case of cancellation costs will be charged. These amounts:

  • before 60 days to the start of the course, that is the course commencement date, an administrative cost of £25
  • up to 60 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 10% of the total course fee
  • up to 30 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 50% of the total course fee
  • from 21 days before the start of the training, that is the course commencement date, 100% of the total course fee.

After the start of the course, no course fee will be refunded.

In all cases, the Centre for Applied Carmelite Spirituality reserves the right to cancel a course. This is extremely unlikely, but should this event occur, CACS will notify the candidates as soon as possible and we are prepared to look for an alternative together. Where a new arrangement is not possible, candidates will be fully refunded.
