“I know that you and your Holy Spirit are praying mightily within me.”
Fr.Liam
While we often think of prayer as “asking God for something”, prayer, properly understood, is a dialogue with God. Just as we cannot hold a conversation with another person unless they can hear us, the very act of praying is an implicit recognition of the presence of God here with us. And in praying, we strengthen that recognition of the presence of God, which draws us closer to Him.
However in our busy lives, we often complicate prayer and that is why if we want inner peace and a relationship with God, it’s good to understand the essence of what prayer really is.
The video below explores this concept in some more detail.
“What prayer is, ultimately, is being present to God who is eternally present to us.”
Fr Yamai
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:28-30.
