Matthew chooses to begin his Nativity narrative with a genealogy of Jesus Christ. There in the middle of all those begats are four women: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and Bathsheba.  Why these women?  Join us for an Advent Journey with author, Kathleen Kichline, as we ask this question, Why are these women included?  What do their stories reveal to us about the Story that follows?  Let “Mary of whom Jesus was born” be our guide as we journey through Advent and prepare our hearts for the birth of Christ.

During this retreat  you’ll have the Carmelite friars and Kathleen MacInnis as your guide …

• Kathleen MacInnis Kichline, M.Div. served for many years as adjunct faculty at Seattle University, Seattle, WA, USA and as Pastoral Associate to parishes within the Archdiocese of Seattle.  She is the author of WHY THESE WOMEN: Four Stories You Need to Read Before You Read the Story of Jesus, as well as several scripture studies  Currently, she offers an online retreat and workshop ministry, Sisters in Scripture, and blog, Scribbles.
